- Information on what you would like to have included in your commission artwork (please be as thorough and concise as possible). The specific details of the commission artwork will be determined through written correspondence and may include simple sketches and/or reference material for clarification. References materials are appreciated in order to create a piece that is accurate and/or reach a desired theme or visual appearance.Once a commission is approved, you will be notified and a full payment is expected. Depending on its complexity a 50% down payment agreement can be made, with the remainder 50% due upon completion. Payment is via PayPal, and all fees must be paid in USD.The first step is deciding on the subject and composition of the commission. This begins with you submitting your idea to me. I will likely ask questions during this phase to obtain an understanding of your desire for the artwork. At the beginning, I will work on sketches based on the details discussed. These will be based on the idea presented by you and any references provided. The designs which I feel are strongest will then be provided to you for review and feedback. The point of this step is to ensure the project begins with a strong start. The amount of revisions will vary based on the complexity or level of personalization to the artwork, and will be agreed upon beforehand. This process is important to ensure the project is moving in a favorable direction for both parties. For all commissions, I will provide you with a rough sketch/wip images. You may request 2-3 minor changes in the sketch. For colored commissions, you may request 2-3 minor changes before the final coloring (i.e. different color clothing, hair, flat color background).Once the commissioned artwork is completed, you will receive a digital copy online as JPEG/PNG file, coded in RGB. My work is set to 25x25mm or 297x210mm at 300 DPI. However, depending on the nature of the request file type, sizes and resolution may vary. For commercial purposes:To request a quote for your project, please contact me at [email protected] and tell me more about it. Add all information on what you would like to have included in your commission artwork (please be as thorough and concise as possible). Below are some questions that will help me provide a better estimate,- How many illustrations do you need?
- Which size and format?
- Do you have a budget and deadline?
- What is the usage of the illustration? (e.g. book, magazines, website, advertising, billboard, etc) Will you be printing the illustration on products for commercial use? (e.g. fabrics, homewares, clothing)
- For how long do you need to use the illustrations?
- Which territory will the illustration be used in? (e.g. Europe, USA, Worldwide)
- Who are the illustrations for? (client profile)
The final price of a commissioned artwork is based on but not limited to:
- The production time.
- The usage of the illustration (see licensing). The licensing fee is proportional to the usage of the illustration and represents its added value in a precise context. The wider the usage, the higher the fee.

FAQs
ABOUT LICENSINGWhen an artist creates an artwork, commissioned or not, they automatically own the Copyright of that image. Illustrations are paid on the basis of a license. When a client pays for an illustration, or every other creation from an artist, they usually don’t buy it forever. A license means an authorization to use a commissioned or pre-existing illustration or design, for a specific purpose, specific duration and specific geographical limits. The client is therefore "granted of rights".A license can be exclusive, meaning no one else can use that image while the client's license is active, or it can be non-exclusive meaning that anyone can license that image from the artist at any given time.If you see an illustration of mine that you are interested in, please contact me. If you want to sell products with my illustration, licensing can take the form of royalties, or a flat fee. Licensing details will be written in a Licensing Agreement. You can also commission me to create a new illustration project. If you’d like to use my illustrations without restrictions, we can negotiate a buyout. You will be able to use my illustration without any limitations of time, purpose and geographical limits. In this case, the licensing fee will be much higher than a standard limited licensing. Please note that a buyout is not a Copyright transfer. I retain the right to be recognized as the author of the illustration, and I may use the image for self-promotion (e.g. portfolio).ARE WE A GOOD MATCH?When commissioning an artist is important to take in consideration their overall aesthetic and style. Please take a look at my online Portfolio or Social Media to see if it fits the aesthetic you are looking for. If you see an illustration with a particular style, subject, or color palette that you like, please let me know. The time it takes me to complete a commissioned artwork varies from 1-4 weeks. It all depends on the amount of illustrations and the complexities of day to day life. Of course I will always work my best to meet all deadlines. My overall process starts with sketches on paper and/or digital, based on the idea presented by you and any references provided. The designs which I feel are strongest will then be provided to you for review and feedback. The point of this step is to ensure the project begins with a strong start. The amount of revisions will vary based on the complexity of the artwork, and will be agreed upon beforehand. This process is important to ensure the project is moving in a favorable direction for both parties. After the sketching stage, the rest of my work is fully digital. For all commissions, depending on the media and specifications agreed, I can provide different types of file formats (raster: tiff, jpg, png / vector: svg, pdf). These details will be specified in my quote and/or Licensing Agreement. The source material or layered files are not delivered, certain exceptions may apply.
